simple Hawaiian wedding on a budget panned for October?

Marilyn asked:

I want a really simple “on the beach” wedding in Maui. I have a budget of about $8,000. I would like to be able to stay there for about a week. Any suggestions on how to get started planning? Good hotels that aren’t too pricey? Maybe a package deal or something? Only close family will be there and they are willing to pay for their own tickets etc. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

wow..hawaii is really expensive..i am getting married in mexico next year..i looked at hawaii first but it was just way too expensive especially the airfare..i know its beautiful there but you are going to need more the $8,000.00

my family was responsible for their own airfare and hotel stay if they wanted to go..it was what me and my fiance wanted whether anyone went or not..we just told them if they wanted to go they can and what it cost and it was up to them to go or not..but you have to understand that it may be expensive for some and they wont be able to make it.

I have never been to Maui, but do go on Expedia.com and go to Ohana hotels. They will be less expensive then other hotels. A package deal would cost you less than getting a separate hotel from the flight.
    Hope this helps you!
BTW, when a hotel states there is a 75.00 food and beverage credit……beware!!! Been there done that and it wasn’t worth it!! It was used up in two days for breakfast for my hubby and I!!
